For theater artists and audiences alike, the Geffen Playhouse is a home. It is a place where artists develop and produce new work, and where audiences experience bold, imaginative productions from today’s most distinctive storytellers. Now, a line of Geffen merchandise provides a new way to support the Playhouse. All proceeds support our efforts to develop artists and their new work, and to open our doors to the diverse communities of Los Angeles through education and community programs.
The design of each piece is inspired by the architecture and history of the theater. Originally built in 1929 as a Masonic Clubhouse, many aspects of the original architecture remain today. The tile fountain in the main courtyard is indicative of Spanish tile and design seen throughout Westwood Village and embodies the deep roots and rich history that the Playhouse shares with our community.
The Fountain graphic is an interpretation of our courtyard fountain from above. The Gate design is inspired by the original iron-work seen on the exterior of the building.
